30 minutes in flowing, coloured sand – the Mega Sand Timer makes abstract time tangible. When children ask how much longer, the answer is right there on the table. Flipped upside down, the next reading, play or learning session begins.
At a glance
- 30 minutes runtime: ideal for longer learning sessions
- Coloured sand: clearly visualises the passage of time
- Time marking top and bottom: labelled on both sides
- Ø 8.4 x 16 cm: stable and large enough for circle time
- Glass and plastic: sturdy construction
How children play with it
‘Twenty-five more minutes of reading, then story break’ – the sand timer takes this abstract statement and makes it visible. Children keep an eye on it without asking the teacher. During tooth-brushing routines it shows how long to brush, in play sessions it marks tidy-up time. Time becomes an experience rather than a lesson.
