How children play with it
The first time with the beam needs a practitioner’s hand – the child feels their way along the rungs, sensing when the beam will tip. After several attempts comes the courage to try it solo. Concentration becomes visible, eyes fix on the end of the beam, hips search for the centre. When the child reaches the other end safely, pride shines on their face.
