How children play with them
The cards show glasses, some nearly empty, some filled to the brim. Children arrange them in order, from barely filled to brimming, or in reverse. For comparison, two cards are placed side by side and the educator asks: Which one has more? Mathematical language grows naturally from visual comparison, long before numbers enter the picture.
