How children play with it
The nursery child grasps the thick mushroom head with their whole hand and pushes the peg into the pegboard (sold separately). They pull it out, push it back in, sort by colour and arrange rows of red and yellow mushrooms. Hand-eye coordination develops with each peg. From grasping comes construction, from placing comes a first pattern.
