What you need

Step by step

  1. Set out the sorting bowls on the wooden tray
  2. Have the children sort small items by colour into the bowls using tweezers
  3. Offer the number sliding puzzle alongside for first counting experience
  4. Mix colours and observe using the liquid sorting pad
  5. Name and discuss the results together

Safety first

  • Only offer small parts (beads, sorting items) under supervision, choking hazard for children under 3
  • Tweezers are made of blunt plastic but should not be used to poke around anyway
  • The pad is waterproof but should not be used as a drinking vessel

Variations

  • Sort by shape or size instead of colour
  • Use several sorting bowl sets in parallel for larger groups

Our tips

  • Ideal as a free-play station in the learning corner, as it is self-explanatory and needs little supervision
  • Institutions can order the set on invoice and equip several stations at once

Frequently asked questions

Is the set suitable for the toddler room?

Because of the choking hazard the small parts are more suitable for children from age 3, in the toddler room only under direct supervision.

How do we clean the sorting pad?

The liquid sorting pad simply wipes clean with a damp cloth.
