Sensory Teether for Nursery (Under 3s)

What you need

Step by step

  1. Set the bamboo ring aside as the base
  2. Attach silicone and wooden beads alternately to the ring to create material contrasts
  3. Sew or bind the bell in firmly
  4. Pull all the connections tight and check they're firmly attached
  5. Offer it in everyday use for deliberate grasping, feeling and listening

Safety first

  • Knot or glue small parts securely; for use with under-3s, supervision only
  • Check the material for wear before first use and regularly afterwards
  • Not suitable for free play by children under 3, only guided and firmly joined use
  • Only process the bell firmly bound or sewn in

Variations

  • Combine with a crocheted toy instead of a bell for extra tactile stimulation

Our tips

  • Keep several teethers with different material combinations on hand for under-3 groups so children can compare
