How Children Play with It

In the group room, the educator lays out eight pieces in a row—the balance path begins. Children kick off their shoes, step onto the first piece and feel the textured bumps beneath their bare feet. Step by step, their toes, soles and calf muscles are at work, their sense of balance searching for centre. When the pieces are rearranged, the path changes and with it the challenge. Sensory learning that’s simply fun.
