How Children Use Them

Daniel draws a forest – the dark green pencil glides smoothly across the paper, each stroke rich and full. When he presses harder, the mark becomes more intense, almost like chalk. Marie holds the hexagonal pencil with three fingers one moment, then adjusts her grip – finding her own natural style. As she layers the colours, they blend together, creating a dark pine forest beneath her hand.
