How Children Play With It
The bus stops at the first card: 3 passengers get on. At the next: 2 more. How many are on the bus? The child counts the passengers inside, says 5 – correct. When they get off, they’re already subtracting. The dice create chance, the cards provide structure. What begins as play quickly reinforces the child’s mental picture of number relationships. Movement, counting, understanding – all in one turn.
