Wind it, release it, watch it go. The wooden car is ‘charged’ with a rubber band and then zooms across the floor. Easy for children to assemble, quick to understand – and it amazes every time the rubber releases its energy.
At a glance
- Rubber band drive: First taste of physics – potential energy becomes motion
- Self-assembly: Builds understanding of engineering
- Wood and rubber: Natural materials, easy to repair
- Compact: 14 x 9.5 cm – pocket-sized fun
- From age 3: First workshop experience
How children play with them
Daniel pulls the car back, the rubber stretches – he feels the resistance in his hand. Release. The car shoots forward, rattles across the wooden floor, travels two metres. Again! Marie tries different surfaces: on the carpet it doesn’t go far, on tiles it zooms. Without any words, she’s learning about friction.
