Sand Moulds A-Z

Letters in sand – shape your first words in the sandpit. Sand moulds A-Z turn the sandpit into a learning space: names, short words and numbers take shape letter by letter. The sturdy plastic moulds also work in snow.

How children play with them

The child presses the mould into damp sandpit material, lifts it up – and an A is left behind. Letter by letter, their own name takes shape: T-O-M. Beaming with pride, children show their work, the educator reads it aloud, the word becomes real. In winter it works in snow: WIND, FOX, TREE, frozen into the snow blanket. Sand and snow feel different, but both shape just as well – writing with your whole body.
